Certain phthalates: plasticising additives principally found in flexiblepolyvinylchloride (PVC) (used in flooring, medical tubing for drips, shoes and
gadgets), texturing agents, solvents and fixatives, fragrances in cosmetics
and perfumes. Some phthalates, e.g. DEHP, DBP, and BBP are classified in
Europe as toxic to reproduction, and have the potential to exert endocrine
disruption, which may cause birth defects, harm to reproduction, organ
damage, obesity, early puberty or cancer of the breast or testis.
