Hi dr. Coulam,
I'm posting this for a friend who can't login:
I had 9 failed IVFs in 5 years of TTC before it was discovered that I have TSH of 20, ATA+, extreme AMA+(202, normal<20) and CD56+ cells 18% (we had just male factor before that). Since then I've been taking Euthyrox 50mg, which lowered my TSH to less than 2.
Immune treatments in my country (Croatia) are in its infancy, and my doctor and I cobbled together this tentative treatment from information on the web and literature:
- dexamethasone 1g from first day of stimulation
- one dose 25g IVIG 7-8 days before transfer (I weigh 52kg)
- baby aspirin, omega-3, folic acid
I have some questions:
1. I am worried about NK cells in the uterus, which I don't know if I have - would this course of treatment take care of it? If I had them, would I need anything else like Enbrel?
2. In your opinion, would one dose of IVIG would do the trick and how much am I risking by taking one dose only, instead of one dose cd6, one dose -2 days before transfer? (Finances are a big factor!!!)
Thank you very much for generously sharing your opinion and advice!
