Hi, we are moving to Croatia from April on... I am 30 myself and have a 1.5 year old girl and was wondering if anyone has ideas about what to do in the Zadar Region. Any advice or info is greatly welcome! So far I don t speak a word Croatian yet but you could still answer in Croatian and I try the Google Translater ;-) Thanks in advance!!!
Hi, welcome! I had experience with people moving to Croatia with small children, many of them became dear friends, unfortunatelly don't know what to actually do in Zadar, but on more general level -just relax! After the initial stress and all the comotion with the move, you will find that most people in Croatia are friendly, bureaucracy impossible and Zadar a beautiful town, with great climate! Have fun!
Hello and welcome! The advice that you are expecting will largely depend on whether you have a job here waiting for you or not, whether you have any friends or colleagueas here already, are you looking for a kindergarden for you kid etc. As klija has already pointed out, you can expect a beautiful town, great climate, very good food, clear sea and a lot of fun during warm seasons. Enough for a start!

thanks for your replies! that sounds all very positive ;-) My husband has a job lined up - that s actually why we move.
I will be mostly a stay at home mum ;-) so I guess I ll be able to enjoy Zadar.
If anyone knows about a toddler group in Zadar city please let me know... or any other activities (baby yoga, etc.) also any advice on nice beaches or playgrounds. I have a sister in law who is from Croatia, but her family is from Istria - so a good bit away. I just know that part of Croatia myself from summer vacations... very good memories ;-)
I d love to learn Croatian now as well so if by chance anyone knows someone who d be interested in giving private language courses or where to do them let me know.

I would recommend you to start learning Croatian by Pimsleur Method. It's easy and takes you only half an hour a day. By April you'll be confident enough for simple conversation in Croatian without having a headache of Croatian grammar complexity ;)Citiraj:

I just googled the Pimsler Method - it sounds interesting but I am not sure yet if I want to spend a lot of money on an audio course, but thanks for the tipp!!! I think I will first try to use google images (a tipp I found when I looked up the Pimsler Method), get a basic grammar book (I actually like to learn structured like that) and then just use google translate to translate different texts... we ll see how it goes.Citiraj:
