Ode to an Attached Parent
by Christine A. Barker
The toddler cries, mom picks her up;
she doesn't want a snack or to drink from the cup.
Into the sling, what a wonderful thing!
Up off the ground, to be carried around.
Face to face she prods moms nose,
big brother lovingly tickles her toes.
Mom's hands are free, for dinner and laundry.
If the phone does ring, then the toddler will sing,
a great time to distract with a num-num snack.
Scooting her down to meet the breast,
this mom thinks the sling is the best!
