Full / Long-Term Breastfeeding
Dear Mothers
Following recent adverse TV coverage of long-term breastfeeding, it is time to challenge prejudices and re-educate our society about this natural and essentially healthy practice, and I hope you will join with me in this endeavour.
I am writing a book on full/long-term breastfeeding - 3 years and older - to be published by Free Association Books (www.fabooks.com), and would be pleased if you would be willing to talk with me about your related experiences.
FA Books is an academic publisher specialising in social science titles. They are also Michel Odent’s publishers, so I am in the best of company!
Although I will draw on scientific research findings, especially in relation to the beneficial health properties of human milk and the process of feeding, my background is journalism, not social science. The book will therefore be designed to have broad appeal, and be aimed at mothers as well as health professionals. Just to copper-fasten my credentials: I am mother to a 14 year old girl who weaned herself when she was six and half.
I am UK-based, in Cambridge and also often in London, so would welcome face to face interviews within striking distance of these locations, telephone interviews (I will bear the cost) for elsewhere, with a questionnaire only for postal interviews. Confidentiality will be maintained and anonymity assured if desired.
Best wishes
Ann Sinnott
