Home Remedies for Anemia
1. Breast milk provides iron that can help with anemia, so breast feed
infants if this is the source of the illness. For the same reason mother should also eat diet rich in iron and folic acids.
2. Have the child eat foods with plenty of iron, such as beans, almonds, and whole grain products.
3. Have the child get plenty of vitamin C to increase his or her ability to absorb the iron. Vitamin C rich foods include broccoli, green peppers, and citrus fruits.
4.
Have the child eat dry fruit, as they contain concentrated minerals such as iron. Soak these dry fruits like apricots, figs, almonds and raisins overnight in water and let the child eat this in the morning. This should only be given in small quantities.
5. Cook food in a cast iron skillet to increase the iron content of foods, especially when cooking acid rich foods, such as tomatoes.
