Kad smo već kod Cervantesa, u Sancha je udahnuo veliki osjećaj pravde, i moć rasuđivanja - čak i paradoksa. Kad je upitan kako presuditi namjerniku kojem prijeti smrt samo zato što želi prijeći most, a osuda je temeljena na paradoksu, odgovorio je da treba biti milosrdan jer je dobro činiti dobro.
