How?
- assemblies - Work Assembly every Thursday, House Group Assembly every Friday
- teachers congratulating children
- teachers marking work and writting comments - often challenge
- all staff giving house points
- each week children receiving a house point "sticker"
- each week two children from each class receiving a certificate for effort, attitude or commitment
- all children allocated a House Group (Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune)
- Year 6 children given extra responsibilities (Monitors, Head Boy and Girl)
- School Council (28 children meet with me - disa - every three weeks)
- School Council to be given a budget
- Record of Achievement Book (effort, behaviour, progress)
- Additional rewards given to any child who receives 12 merits in their ROA book and then 24
- all classrooms have "Golden Rules"; these are put together by the children of each class
- playground organised with equipment
Sanctions?
- "time-out" in the playground
- poor behaviour will see a loss of playtime or lunchtime
- parents informed
- all serious incidents are logged
- all incidents are investigated
There is a strong emphasis on consistency and fairness.
