Zaraza se tako počela širiti i Bugarskom, Njemačkom, ali i Hrvatskom, priopćili su iz EFSA agencije. Ova bolest može predstavljati veliku opasnost za zdravlje u urbanim populacijama te je treba staviti pod nadzor. Nadzor bolesti trebao bi biti korišten za vrijeme epidemije. Ova vrsta nadzora pomaže da se otkrije bolest u ljudi s visokim rizikom čak i kada ne pokazuju simptome.
