Countries which allows same-sex couples to jointly adopt children:
Andorra (2005), Canada, Netherlands (2001), Spain (2005), Sweden (2003), United Kingdom (2005)
and some parts of Australia and the United States
Denmark (1999), Germany (2004), Iceland (2000), Israel (2000)18, Norway (2002) and some parts of
Australia and USA allows same-sex couples to adopt each others children, so called step-child adoption.
Countries which allows single women and thus lesbians to get access of assisted
insemination:
Belgium, Canada, Denmark19, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malta,
Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Serbia-Montenegro, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain,
Sweden (2005), United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela and some parts of Australia.
In Andorra and some other countries assisted insemination treatment is not avaliable for anyone.
Countries which have laws prohibiting single women and therefore lesbians from obtaining
assisted insemination:
Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Hong
Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Norway, Poland, Portugal,
Saudi-Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay
There are some questions about whether single women and lesbians are permitted to obtain such
treatment in some countries, since many countries do not have any laws on assisted insemination.
